TOXIC TIMES AT BUNDY

At the early hours on Wednesday 31st October, "Toxic" left Sydney for it's long journey to Bundaberg. The rest of the Toxic family flew up over the next few days, all pumped and ready for racing.

Great weather in the sunshine state as usual, a little windy, but nice!

Race 1 saw Bad Intent in Pole 1, Airborne in Pole 2 and Toxic in Pole 3. Airborne broke their blower pulley down the first straight and the race became a battle between Bad Intent and the Green Machine. Just as Toxic got in front, driver Chris Edmunds felt a vibration in the motor and decided to turn off the engine. Turned out to be a broken valve spring and a small hole in one of the heads.

The crew started to work on pulling the motor apart and a local engine builder offered to weld the heads. The team was very grateful and managed to have the boat back together and on the water for Race 2 on Sunday.

Race 2 was Airborne in Pole 1, Toxic in Pole 2 , Bad Intent in Pole 3 and Sacrifice in Pole 4. Airborne was in front the whole race with a close battle between Toxic and Bad Intent. Bad Intent had some motor issues and dropped back. Airborne broke down on the last corner and Toxic took 1st place with Sacrifice in 2nd and Bad Intent in 3rd.

Our next race was to be the Iron Nuts Shield. The boat and crew went to launch but unfortunately had problems starting the boat due to the starter motor (mind you it was brand new). Toxic missed the race but was luckily invited to run the "King of the River".

Unfortunately Toxic did not finish the "King of the River" as the welded head did not hold up. The motor is currently getting pulled down and fitted with new heads. We are also in the process of purchasing a new engine. STAY TUNED!!
